The National Education Association (NEA), the nation's largest professional employee organization, is committed to advancing the cause of public education. NEA's 3.2 million members work at every level of education-from pre-school to university graduate programs. NEA has affiliate organizations in every state and in more than 14,000 communities across the United States. (www.nea.org)

The English Teachers Association is a professional Association of English teachers in NSW committed to stimulating teaching and learning in English. ETA supports teachers of English in NSW and presents examples of best practice to promote rich learning experiences for teachers and secondary students. (http://www.ncte.org/)

The National Science Teachers Association (NSTA), founded in 1944 and headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, is the largest organization in the world committed to promoting excellence and innovation in science teaching and learning for all. NSTA's current membership of 60,000 includes science teachers, science supervisors, administrators, scientists, business and industry representatives, and others involved in and committed to science education.

The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics is a public voice of mathematics education, providing vision, leadership and professional development to support teachers in ensuring equitable mathematics learning of the highest quality for all students. (www.nctm.org)

National Council for the Social Studies was founded in 1921, National Council for the Social Studies has grown to be the largest association in the country devoted solely to social studies education. NCSS engages and supports educators in strengthening and advocating social studies. With members in all the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and 69 foreign countries, NCSS serves as an umbrella organization for elementary, secondary, and college teachers of history, geography, economics, political science, sociology, psychology, anthropology, and law-related education. National Art Education Association. Serving more than 20,000 active members, the National Art Education Association is the leading professional organization for art educators in pre-kindergarten through grade 12 as well as college and university professors and researchers, administrators, and museum educators. The American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACTFL) is the only national organization dedicated to the improvement and expansion of the teaching and learning of all languages at all levels of instruction. ACTFL is an individual membership organization of more than 9,000 forgein language educators and administrators from elementary through graduate education, as well as government and industry. American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (AFCS) is the only professional association dedicated to Family & Consumer Sciences professionals. National Association of Industrial & Technical Teacher Educators. The Association advances and promotes excellence in industrial and technical teacher education and trainer training in all settings. National Association for Sports & Physical Education Teachers. NASPE is the preeminent national authority on physical education and a recognized leader in sport and physical activity. NASPE is a non-profit professional membership association that sets the standard for practice in physical education and sport. Its 16,000 members include K-12 physical education teachers, coaches, athletic directors, athletic trainers, sport management professionals, researchers, and college/university faculty who prepare physical activity professionals.
